“Let’s Roll!”

On the morning of September 11, 2001, America was attacked.

We watched in disbelief and horror as an unknown enemy was using commercial airliners as gigantic guided missiles to murder thousands of our men, women, and children.

As most Americans were experiencing a paralyzing helplessness to the unfolding terror, hijackers aboard United Flight 93 were on an evil course of destruction towards our nation’s capital, hoping to bring our country to its knees.

The passengers and crew on United Flight 93 had different ideas.

“Let’s Roll” are words that should forever be remembered; they were the last known words of Todd Beamer before he and other Flight 93 heroes charged and fought the terrorists.

While they could not save themselves, the heroes of Flight 93 saved many others on the ground and, most likely, the Capitol building or the White House.

Todd Beamer was among the first American warriors in the war on terror and David L. Beamer is his very grateful father. Mr. Beamer plans to be the keynote speaker at Operation Bugle Boy 2013, where he will salute our local veterans and speak to the importance of sacrifice in the defense of our great country.

Operation Bugle Boy 2013 will take place on the evening of November 7, 2013, at the St. Martins Knights of Columbus. Ticket availability will be announced soon.
